Frequently Asked Questions

What are your current clinic hours?

The current clinic hours are as stated below:

Monday -Thursday: 9:30AM - 5:00PM

Are you currently accepting new patients?

Yes, I am accepting new patients at this time.

Do you offer virtual or in-person visits?

I provide both virtual and in-person visits, based on your preferences and clinical needs.

How do I request a consultation?

To request a consultation, please click the ‘Request Consultation’ button. This will redirect you to our secure patient portal, called Simple Practice. There, you will click the ‘send message’ button to complete the basic information about the patient such as demographics, reason for visit, and the insurance information(if applicable). I will review the completed form as soon as possible and respond within one-two business days. If the consultation is deemed appropriate, we will forward the clinic policy forms for your review and signature, and subsequently schedule the consultation visit.

Do you accept health insurance?

I currently accept the following health insurances:

-Cigna

-Anthem or Blue Cross Blue Shield (out of state) - Please note that we are not in-network with Blue Shield of California.

If you carry any other health insurance (not listed above), you may utilize the private pay method. For the private pay method, we will bill you directly and you may then request a reimbursement from your health insurance if you have out-of-network benefits.

What happens during the first visit?

The first visit is for introductions, learning about your symptoms, history, and relevant information. You can decide if my practice style suits your needs. During this time, I’m your consulting psychiatrist. If you’re comfortable, we’ll schedule a summary visit to discuss your diagnosis, treatment options, and build a treatment plan. The treatment plan may include medication or therapy recommendations or other therapeutic interventions as per your individual needs.

For children and adolescents (under 18), the initial evaluation spans two one-hour sessions, usually conducted on separate days. I usually see parents during the first meeting and the children/adolescents during the second meeting.  Similarly, there will be a summary visit after the completion of the evaluation process to further discuss the diagnosis and treatment plan. I also routinely schedule the parent feedback sessions to discuss the ongoing treatment progress.

Do you provide disability claims, custody or other forensic Evaluations?

I like to make sure that I can provide the best care from objective point of view, without any conflict of interest. Therefore, I do not participate in disability evaluations including signing the disability forms or custody evaluations for new patients. In addition, I do not provide testimony or reports concerning any legal matters. This way, we can focus our sessions on your treatment without any hindrances.

Thank you and I look forward to working with you. If you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact me at 510-556-3120 or reach me here
